What is this need we have inside of us to know the end-result before we have even started? What is the point of going on a journey that you already know the endpoint of? That seems kind of counterproductive, and boring to me. Doesn’t it to you?
The fun part of being on this journey called life is that we have no idea what’s going to happen from day to day, and year to year. That’s the rollercoaster ride that we are on. It isn’t always fun to be on a lazy river, with absolute knowledge of what is going to happen at every turn.
After a few moments of being on a lazy river, you will want the excitement of a rollercoaster.
The Journey Matters The Most
We all know that we need to focus on the process, but more importantly, we need to stay in the present moment, and love every part of it.
The process is what makes up 99% of the journey. The endpoint, if we ever get there (most never do), comprises maybe 1% of the entire journey. Why does the end result matter so much?
The reality is that most of us don’t enjoy the journey at all, because we are so focused on the endpoint. That point which might or might never come.
In my life now, I do the opposite. I don’t worry a smidge about the endpoint and where is this all going? I don’t know. Really, I have no idea. And, the truth is I don’t want to know. I don’t want to spoil the surprise that awaits me.
I want you guys to do the same. Stop focusing on the endpoint. Come back here. Here, right now, and in the moment. Where it all happens.
Here is the only time we need to know and think about.
